38th congress of Framsókn
Now approaching the 38th National Congress of Framsókn. To ensure the efficient execution of the congress, it is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT to complete pre-registration for the congress.

Framsókn holds a regular national congress no less frequently than every other year, which should generally take place in the first half of the year. The national congress of Framsókn determines the party's main policies in national matters, sets the party's rules, and holds supreme authority in its affairs.
Important dates:
15 January – reference date for the number of representatives of affiliate societies.
30 January – constitutional amendments must be submitted to the party office no later than midnight.
7 February – credentials must be submitted to the party office no later than noon.
Tasks of the national congress
At the national congress, the chairman of the Framsókn Party shall be elected, who will also be the chairman of the party's central committee. Then, at the national congress, a vice-chairman, secretary, and two auditors shall be elected. Two members and two alternates shall also be elected to the legal committee. Furthermore, two members and two alternates shall be elected to the ethics committee.
Each party association is entitled to send one representative with voting rights to the national congress for every 15 members or fraction thereof. An equal number of alternates shall be elected. The number of representatives shall be based on the membership register as it stands at the party's office 30 days before the national congress. The arrangement of representative elections is governed by the individual affiliate societies' rules. Affiliate societies must notify the party office of their choice of representatives for the national congress no later than one week before the congress is held.
All members of the party have the right to attend the national congress and have the right to speak and make proposals.
Central committee members have a seat at the national congress with voting rights.

Policy documents for the national congress
The policy committee has completed updating Framsókn's policy from the last national congress. The committee has reorganised the resolutions, rephrased, and added new resolutions. The groups at the national congress will largely correspond to parliamentary committees of the Althingi.
